VerbLearn

A Crosslinguistic, Bodily-Grounded
Hand-Action Verb Learning System

David Bailey, UC Berkeley / ICSI

To really understand the what's going on, you should probably look at a short paper or even my thesis dissertation for a description of the verb learning model.
Java 1.1 source code for the system is contained in these files:

Lexicon.java (core algorithms)
VerbLearn.java (top-level and GUI stuff)
Context.java (data-management stuff)
Jack.java (connection to animator (N/A on Web!))
Generator.java (generator of random action examples)
Utilities.java (misc. utility classes)

Beware, most browsers do not yet support Java 1.1 (including Netscape).
In any case, the system will take a while to load and start.
ICSI users should probably execute /u/dbailey/thesis/sys/verblearn instead.

Enable Java in order to use the VerbLearn system!
