AVAILABILITY
This command is available from the Interphase S/ATM 4615
software distribution. For information about installing the
4615 software distribution, refer to the S/ATM 4615 Instal-
lation Guide.
DESCRIPTION
iaparam sets or displays adapter parameters stored in the
Interphase S/ATM 4615 adapter on-board flash memory.
iaparam can also be used to update the adapter's Fcode. The
device special file is specified by the device argument.
The device argument may be expressed in the following forms:
/dev/iadev# where `#' is the ia controller number.
/dev/iadev0 is the default device if no device is specified.
The on-board adapter flash memory contains the adapter's
Fcode and some parameters that may need to be changed for
each installation. These parameters are the adapters MAC
addresses and the SBus interrupt level.
There are 2 MAC addresses contained in each 4615 adapter,
the current MAC address and the factory MAC address. The
nodes MAC address is set to the current MAC address when
system is powered up. The current MAC address can be changed
with the -m option. The factory MAC address is provided by
Interphase and can not be changes by the customers. 4515
adapters are shipped form the factory with the current MAC
address set to the factory MAC address. Option -r restores
the factory MAC address into the current MAC address.
4615 adapters are shipped from the factory with the SBus
interrupt level set to 4. If a different interrupt level is
required, the interrupt level can be changed with the -i
option.
The adapter's Fcode can be updated with the -f option.
OPTIONS
-d Display adapter's factory MAC address, current MAC
address and the SBus interrupt level stored in the
flash memory.
-m Change the current MAC address to mac_address. The MAC
address is given as six hexadecimal bytes separated by
colons.
-i Set the adapter's interrupt level to level. Valid
values of the interrupt level are 1 to 7, inclusive.
-r Restore the factory default MAC address into the
current MAC address.
-f Update the Fcode from the file file into the flash
