For one idyllic week, our merry band of 10 lolled poolside, took field trips (or stick-shift driving lessons, for some of us!) to Orvieto (mostly for the gelato), Assisi and Spoleto, played some rousingly divisive board games, survived a freak storm with high-force tree-toppling gales, and planned (though never executed) an epic still-shot-movie telling the sad story of our tower ghost Lucia (even if, to our eternal bitterness, it turned out to be a HOAX perpetrated by certain LIARS!).
Morocco was mo' rockin'! Diana, Harriet and Nancy crossed the strait and were finally able to breathe some good old developing country air. The souk! The desert! The sea! Best. Country. Ever.
Sky ablaze behind Merenid Tombs in Fez,
Harriet camouflaged behind her purse in Chefchaouen.

2 desert pairs:
Camels silhouetted against moon-lit dawn, and
dorks having tea in the Sahara (you know, like in the song)
Our new pals and travel buddies Winston and Jen are so amazing that they have a whole site devoted to their One Year, One World trip. Check it out! (And Winston is an ACE photographer with the most amazing camera I've ever seen; "pro-sumer"!) But for the parts most relevant to our intersection, see their Morocco page, with links to pages on:
