Kairi Williams

Kairi Williams joined the ICSI Board of Trustees in 2022. He is the current Assistant Vice Chancellor for Research Administration and Compliance at UC Berkeley. The Office of Research Administration and Compliance (RAC) is the administrative office at UC Berkeley responsible for facilitating the submission and acceptance of grant awards while ensuring campus compliance with federal, state, and university regulations. Williams oversees roughly 50 professional staff across its subunits including the Sponsored Projects Office (SPO), Animal Care and Use, Office for Protection of Human Subjects, Stem Cell Research Oversight, Export Controls, Conflict of Interest, and RAC Information Technology. Prior to UC Berkeley, he served as the Associate Vice Provost for Research Operations and Compliance in the Office of Research & Innovation at Drexel University. As the Associate Vice Provost, he held overall responsibility for a diverse portfolio including all research compliance programs as well as finance and administration for the Office of Research and Innovation including centrally reporting research centers and institutes, shared services, and research core facilities.
