I am currently a postdoctoral researcher working in the field
of robotics and computer vision at ICSI Berkeley and UC Berkeley.
Since I started as a graduate student in 2002, I have worked
in a variety of different robotics projects; from soccer playing
robots, over autonomous cars towards the PR2 household robot
platform from Willow Garage. In these fields I contributed on
different topics, i.e., object modeling and tracking, kinematics
for legged robots, control theory, and computer vision. I was
most fascinated by my work on an autonomous car, where I had
the possibility to develop a VW Passat, which since then officially
has been driving autonomously on public streets in the center
and autobahn of Berlin, Germany. Prior to this I spent nearly
six years in the field of soccer playing legged robots and participated
at international competitions.
