Noura Abdi

Dr. Noura Abdi has recently completed her PhD at King’s College London, UK. Her work is focused on Usable Security and Privacy of Smart Home Personal Assistants with previous publications in Usable Security and Privacy conferences. She has recently joined ICSI as a postdoc working with Julia Bernd, and is working on IoT Bystanders privacy and users’ perceptions of healthcare apps. One aspect of this research regards Smart Home Personal Assistants (SPA) i.e., Amazon Alexa, which have a complex ecosystem involving many stakeholders; from SPA providers to third-party skill developers. This makes the flow of information complicated, leading to security and privacy challenges and concerns.
