ICSI's synoptics.awk script
Here you can get an awk script written at ICSI with which one can convert
the <site>.map file located at:
ftp://matmos.hpl.hp.com/pub/bagnet/PVC.tables/
into some commands and files helpful during the set up of a Synoptics switch and Synoptics Host Adapter.
Syntax:
synoptics.awk <site>.map

The script generates the following files:
- set-bagnet-switch (Set up the PVC table in the Synoptics switch)
- set-bagnet-switch.cmd (Command file to set up the PVC table)
- set-bagnet-host1 (Set up the PVC table in the first host on this site)
- set-bagnet-host2 (Set up the PVC table in the second host on this site)
- set-bagnet-host3 (Set up the PVC table in the third host on this site)
- set-bagnet-host3 (Set up the PVC table in the forth host on this site)
- pvc.batch.host1 (pvc.batch file for the first host on this site)
- pvc.batch.host2 (pvc.batch file for the second host on this site)
- pvc.batch.host3 (pvc.batch file for the third host on this site)
- pvc.batch.host4 (pvc.batch file for the forth host on this site)
- drop-bagnet-switch (Drop the PVC table in the Synoptics switch)
- drop-bagnet-switch.cmd (Command file to drop the PVC table)
- drop-bagnet-host1 (Drop the PVC table in the first host on this site)
- drop-bagnet-host2 (Drop the PVC table in the second host on this site)
- drop-bagnet-host3 (Drop the PVC table in the third host on this site)
- drop-bagnet-host3 (Drop the PVC table in the forth host on this site)
- ping-bagnet (try to ping all sites in the BAGNet)
- clean-up (Clean up all files generated by synoptics.awk)
